Sherpa "Coral" Glass Beads from Nepal

An antique strand of Sherpa "Coral" glass beads, made to imitate rare red coral.  Most are Ovals with flat ends in shape and some barrel shapes with a few variants (see photo). They are smooth with some pitting (and a few chips). Beads average 9mm x 11mm (smallest) to 15mm x 13mm (the largest) with 3mm hole for stringing.  From the Sherpa people who inhabit the region around the Himalayan mountain range.  From the early 1900s.  Some beads are chipped or dirty from former, daily prayer use.  26" strand, 50 beads.
