Afghanistan Metals

Flat coin silver dangle made in Afghanistan.  Hand cut, so there’s some variation in shape and size (see photo); approx. 13mm in diameter x .5mm thick with 3mm loop.  Very similar to MAFG75, but with patina on the surface of the metal.   What is "patina"?  In the case of this item, it is an oxidization of metal to form a thin film or discoloration, usually due to exposure to air and handling or a chemical addition while heating the metal.  SOLD SEPARATELY.

These hand-made, cute jangly bells are fashioned from coin silver in Afghanistan. Since they’re hand-made their sizes are approximate (see photo); 10mm in diameter with a tiny 2.5mm loop at the top.  Sold Separately, not as a group.

Antique (100+ years old) pendant from Afghanistan; medium silver content (60%), with blue enamel work (slightly worn by use).  85mm wide x 75mm tall with ten 5mm bails on the top.  Pretty floral and geometric designs cover the front. Slightly convex.

Here's a good buy from our "hurt box" of goodies: a "German" silver triangle-shaped pendant with a brass wash and glass inlays and "jewels".  From the Kuchi tribe of Afghanistan.  58mm wide x 51mm tall with a 4mm bail; 11 3mm holes at the bottom where you can attach some jangly baubles. Missing some of the glass, needs some cleaning, and the right lower side of the pendant is damaged.  Sold "as is" and is not returnable.

Old, somewhat worn "nickle-silver" pendant from Afghanistan Kuchi tribe.  This nickle silver centerpiece has a slight brass wash, and features some enamel work as well as cut-glass jewels and 32 5mm dangles.  60mm wide x 36mm tall x 2.5mm thick with three 3mm loops at the top.  This item needs some cleaning and is missing some of its "jewels" (please look at the photo before ordering).  Sold "as is" and NOT returnable.
