Beads listed here are primarily sterling silver, with repousse work. Brass and copper are also found in some of these handmade beads, and often have inlayed crushed turquoise or coral. With current politics in Tibet, many craftspeople have been displaced and relocated to Nepal. The traditional metal techniques and styles of Tibet are found in Nepalese beads and components.

An antique strand of chunky Sherpa "Coral" glass beads, made to imitate rare salmon/pink "Angel Skin" coral. Smooth with some pitting, beads average 19mm long x 21mm diameter with 2-4mm hole for stringing. From the Sherpa people who inhabit the region around the Himalayan mountain range.
