Ancient Roman glass beads excavated from Djenne. Over 2000 years old. These small beads measure anywhere from tiny approx. 1mm x 1mm to 6mm x 4mm each; .5mm to 1mm hole. Various shapes and color ranges from aqua to cobalt, and there is some calcification. This 24" strand has a nice assortment of yellow, gray, white, blue and green mostly opaque, but some translucent, glass beads.

Charming 24" strand of 2000+ year old Roman glass beads. Awesome selection of white and grays, all opaque with heavy calcification (the strand may need to be washed because they are somewhat dusty) on practically each bead. Each strand has a variety of bead shapes, sizes, and colors. They were excavated around Djenné (which is near Timbuktu) in the country of Mali. The average size for a beads is roughly 2-4mm long x 3-4mm in diameter, although each strand does have a few larger beads. PHOTO shows many strands twisted together, sold separately; roughly 200 BEADS PER STRAND.

African Traders call this "Dig Beads". They are ancient glass beads excavated in Djenne, Mali and date back to 1500-2000 years. Made in Italy, they followed the Sahara Trade Route to Mali. Colors can vary, but they are most commonly aqua blue; calcification on glass is common for beads of this age. 22" strand of graduated beads ranging from the very small (3×2mm ) to large (5mm × 11mm). All in great condition.

16" strand of ancient Roman period glass that has been newly cut into thick disc shapes. Graduated strand of light to dark translucent green and blue glass… ultra cool for all sorts of projects. Sizes range from 12mm x 11mm x 5mm thick to 19mm x 17mm x 5mm thick. Original glass pieces are 1,000-2,000 years old recut and holes drilled thru each amazing bead.
