Flat Coin Silver Disc Dangle with Patina

Flat coin silver dangle made in Afghanistan. Hand cut, so there’s some variation in shape and size (see photo); approx. 13mm in diameter x .5mm thick with 3mm loop. Very similar to MAFG75, but with patina on the surface of the metal. What is "patina"? In the case of this item, it is an oxidization of metal to form a thin film or discoloration, usually due to exposure to air and handling or a chemical addition while heating the metal.
