Antique Brass Funeral Pyre Beads from India, C
Rare, three-strand 28" (or so) inch necklace made of antique brass beads from Northern India. Originally used in funeral pyers, these beads are then gathered from the ashes and restrung. There are basically three types of brass beads: the tubes that measure approximately 3mm xm 3mm, the small faceted ones that measure approximately 2mm x 2mm and the larger, flat spiral pendant-like beads that measure approximately 10mm long that includes the 5-7mm diameter "pendant". All these beads are strung upon very old cotton cord (you may want to resting these) and tied off with a four red glass beads and a larger squared-silver one.
